Wild Pawn

Wild Pawn is a small isometric puzzle game with a chess twist, playable right in your browser.

The Story

An evil sorcerer has invaded the kingdom and his minions have taken the queen. A humble pawn named Ephor sets out across the battlefield to reach the other side, ready to sacrifice himself for her freedom. The sorcerer tries to stop him with a spell, but something goes wrong and Ephor gains the ability to move like any chess piece.

How It Works

Each level gives you a limited hand of movement cards: knight, bishop, rook, queen. Every move costs points. Capturing enemies, stepping on switches, and using teleports earns them back. The goal is simple - reach the exit. The challenge is doing it efficiently.

Levels are compact isometric grids filled with traps, locked doors, pressure plates, teleports, and enemies with fixed attack patterns. Planning your route matters more than reflexes.

Current State

The game is still in active development. There are a few hand-crafted levels, a working editor, and a generator(WIP) that can generate solvable puzzles. You can create your own levels and share them with others. If you are an artist interested in helping with assets, I would be glad to hear from you.
